Privacy Policy

Red Rocks Consultants (“we,” “our,” “us”) operates RedRocksQuizzes.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

What We Collect

• First name — used to personalize your quiz results.
• Birthday month and day (no year) — used for personalization and optional birthday notifications. We never collect your birth year.
• Email address (registered accounts only) — used solely for logging in and sending notifications you choose to enable.
• Quiz answers and results — stored so you can revisit your results and so we can improve our quizzes.
• IP address and approximate location (country and state/region) — used for fraud prevention and to count unique visitors. IP addresses are replaced with a one-way salted hash after 90 days; country and region are retained. Location comes from hosting metadata and a local GeoLite2 database. Lookups run on our server; we do not send visitor IP addresses to a third-party geolocation service. Approximate location may be missing or inaccurate.

How We Use Your Information

• Running quizzes and generating personalized results
• Preventing fraud and abuse
• Counting unique visitors and improving the site
• Sending notifications you have opted into (weekly quizzes, birthday quizzes, share alerts)

What We Don’t Do

• We never sell your email address or personal information. Service providers process data needed to operate the site; limited sharing with people you interact with is described below.
• We do not use your data for targeted advertising (ads, if shown, are not personalized to you).

Data Retention

• IP addresses are replaced with a one-way salted hash after 90 days. The original IP cannot be recovered.
• Country and region data is kept indefinitely for analytics.
• Quiz results are kept indefinitely. If you delete your account, we retain only anonymized outcome records, removing your name, birthday, browser identifier, IP, location, answers, and personalized result text.

Sharing, Referrals, and Invitations

A first-party browser cookie identifies guests for one year. A separate first-referrer cookie lasts 30 days and credits the original sharer with eligible clicks, starts, and finishes. We record referral code, quiz, browser identifier, timestamp, user agent, IP, and approximate country/region. Known bots, preview fetches, self-clicks, and repeat clicks within 24 hours are excluded. Referral IPs follow the same 90-day hashing rule. Raw click logs are removed after one year; aggregate statistics remain.

If you follow someone’s link, the start gate tells you that the sharer can see your first name and the date you start or finish. Before you start, they see counts only. They never see your birthday, IP, location, email, answers, or results through referral reporting. Choosing to share your own result publishes your first name and result type on a shared landing page, not your personal explanation. Guest share links transfer to your account when you log in on that browser.

Invitation recipients’ email addresses are used only for that invitation, duplicate prevention, delivery/activity status, and honoring opt-outs—not for marketing lists or account creation. The person who entered an address can see it and whether that invitation was clicked, started, or finished, but not the recipient’s results. Site email is delivered through Resend. Login and notification mail use mail.redrocksquizzes.com; invitations use the separate invite.redrocksquizzes.com sender domain and include one-click unsubscribe headers and a visible unsubscribe link. Opting out permanently suppresses invitations from all sharers. We retain a one-way keyed fingerprint to enforce this, without creating an account. Suppression never blocks login emails.

Share-activity notifications are opt-in. The first eligible click can trigger an alert, followed by at most one daily summary. Preferences are in Settings. Deleting an account removes its share links and anonymizes its visitor records; permanent invitation-suppression fingerprints are retained to honor opt-outs.

Know-Me Quizzes & Leaderboards

Know-me quizzes are created by registered users and scored against their chosen correct answers, not an AI personality judgment. Before you begin, the start gate tells you that the creator will see your first name, score, and the questions you missed. Other people who have completed that quiz can see your first name and score on its leaderboard. The first completed attempt is used. Correct-answer keys stay private. Creators can close a quiz or delete it and its scores. Shared links can be forwarded; do not include private information.

Optional Friend Comparisons

Referral reporting still does not reveal personality results. As a separate opt-in feature, people who both finished a quiz connected through a friend’s referral link can choose to compare. Only after both agree do we reveal their result types, headlines, and personalized explanations to one another and send the two result types and computed answer similarity to our AI writing provider for a playful comment. Either participant can withdraw consent from My profile or the result page; subsequent comparison requests no longer return results. An open page checks consent periodically. Withdrawal cannot erase screenshots or information already seen. Matching-answer percentages and AI comments are entertainment, not relationship assessments.

Birthdays, Recommendations & Progress

We derive a zodiac sign from birthday month/day without a birth year. It is sent for result personalization only when the quiz author expressly allows zodiac use; it is not a scientific assessment. We may show a birthday greeting and recommend quizzes based on category, aggregate popularity, and your own quiz history. Badges, quiz history, and consecutive-day streaks are private to you unless you choose to share them. Streak days use America/New_York. Guest progress uses the signed first-party browser cookie and transfers when you log in from that browser. Clearing the cookie can lose guest access. Account deletion removes badges, streaks, comparisons, authored know-me quizzes and associated scores; other previously disclosed copies cannot be recalled.

Optional Quiz Emails

Daily quiz, weekly new quizzes, and birthday quiz emails are separately opt-in and off by default. Notifications come from [email protected] via Resend, with a visible unsubscribe link and one-click unsubscribe headers. Unsubscribing affects that email type only, never login mail. You can also change Settings. Daily emails run at 9 AM Eastern, weekly emails on Mondays, and birthday emails on the birthday (February 29 is observed on February 28 in non-leap years). No daily, weekly or birthday email is sent while the site is Coming Soon. Delivery records and unique opt-outs support operational counts; ambiguous sends are not automatically retried.

User Content & Moderation

Before a know-me quiz can be shared, its title, questions, answers and creator first name are sent to our AI provider for a safety pre-check. Please never submit identifying details about yourself or anyone else. AI screening can make mistakes; flagged drafts are blocked and placed in an administrator review queue. You can edit and retry. Reports, flagged content and action notes are visible to authorized administrators, who can dismiss reports, hide or delete content, or suspend creators. We log these actions for accountability. Do not include personal information in reports.

Geolocation Attribution

This product includes GeoLite2 data created by MaxMind, available from https://www.maxmind.com, under its applicable license. Country and region lookups use a local database when hosting metadata is unavailable.

Your Rights

• You can delete your account from Settings. Your email, profile, and login links are removed, and your past attempts are anonymized.
• You can turn notifications on or off at any time.
• Guest users can take quizzes without providing an email address.

Age Requirement

This site is for users ages 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
